A springs trip and a real night out do not usually come in the same package. The clear water is a short drive into the country. The good food, the music, and the coffee are back in a city. Gainesville is the rare place where both fit inside one trip.

The best springs in Florida sit a short drive out of town, holding a steady seventy-two degrees no matter the month, cool and bright through a brutal summer and warm and bright when winter finally shows up. Float them in the morning and you can be back downtown by evening for dinner you can walk to, a show, and a quiet room in an old house. Wild Florida by day, a real downtown by night, and no long drive home in between.

What to know before you go

Every spring around here runs at about seventy-two degrees, all year. In July that water feels cold in the best way. In January it feels warm. Nothing about the calendar changes the temperature, only the crowds. The clarity is the part people are not ready for: at the best of them you can see straight to the bottom, and drifting over it feels like floating on glass. All of it rises out of the same vast aquifer under North Florida, which is why the springs cluster so thick in this one corner of the state.

There are two kinds of spring in this part of Florida. The state and county parks are built for swimming, picnics, and easy family days. The private parks lean toward tubing, camping, and diving. Knowing which kind of day you want sorts most of the decision for you before you ever pick a name. Several of them feed the Santa Fe River , so you will hear that name a lot, and a few sit on the Suwannee farther west.

A few things hold true everywhere. This is wild Florida, so gators live in the rivers and you give them their room. The spring heads are generally where people swim, and the one spring with no gators at all is Devil’s Den, because it sits underground. Glass is not allowed at any of them. Most charge admission, anywhere from a few dollars at the state parks to more at the private springs, and the popular ones stop letting cars in once the lot is full. The real trick is getting there early. Check current hours and fees before you drive out, because both shift with the season.

Getting there from downtown

Almost all of the springs sit west and northwest of Gainesville, out toward High Springs, Fort White, and Williston. From downtown you are looking at twenty minutes to the closest and a little under an hour to the farthest, on easy two-lane country roads. A few practical notes. Gas up and grab a bag of ice before you leave town, because the spots out by the springs are small and not always open. Cell service thins out once you are off the main roads, so screenshot the directions before you lose the signal. And the parking lots at the popular springs are smaller than the crowds they draw, which is the whole reason we keep telling you to go early.

The springs, one by one

Ginnie Springs

If you only have time for one, this is the all-rounder. Ginnie sits on the Santa Fe River near High Springs, about half an hour out, and it does a little of everything: swim, snorkel, tube the river, paddle, camp, or dive. It is privately run, it is often called the clearest water in the state, and it pushes something like forty million gallons a day, so the flow is real and the water never stops renewing itself. The Devil’s Eye cave system underneath draws certified divers from all over, though the caverns are for cave and cavern training only, not a place to wander. It is a longtime favorite of the college crowd, which means summer days get loud and full. Go early, claim a spot on the bank, and let the river do the rest. It stays open year round, and even in the cooler months the water feels warm against the air.

Devil’s Den

This is the one people do not forget. Devil’s Den is a prehistoric spring that sits inside a dry cave near Williston, about half an hour out. You walk down a staircase into the earth and the spring is waiting at the bottom, lit by a single opening in the rock that drops a column of daylight onto seventy-two degree water. You snorkel or dive it by reservation, and there is no open swimming, so it is a different kind of day than the river springs and you plan it ahead. It is also one of the only springs around with no gators, on account of being underground. There are cabins and a pool above if you want to stretch it into an overnight, though we would rather you came back to town.

Gilchrist Blue Springs

The easy family swim. Gilchrist Blue is a state park near High Springs, about forty minutes out, with a clear swimming spring, a sandy edge to wade in from, room to snorkel, and a few smaller springs to wander between. It is calmer than Ginnie and built for a slow day: a cooler, a shaded spot, and kids who can get in and out without much worry. There is camping if you want to stay over, but it makes an easy in-and-out day from downtown.

Poe Springs

The close one. Poe is the largest spring in Alachua County and one of the nearest to town, around twenty-five minutes out near High Springs. It is a county park, so it is simple and affordable: swim, tube, picnic, let the kids loose on the playground, walk a short trail. When you want water without much of a drive, or when you only have half a day, this is the pick. It does not carry the fame of the others, which is part of why it tends to stay a little calmer.

Rum Island and the rest

Rum Island is a small spot on the Santa Fe River that locals love for being cheap and low-key, the kind of place you go when you want the water without the parking lot. Divers add Blue Grotto near Williston, an open-water cavern dive, to their list. Farther out, Hart Springs and Otter Springs lean toward camping and long, slow days, and Silver Springs over near Ocala runs the old glass-bottom boats if you would rather stay dry and still see the water. And in the cold months, Manatee Springs near Chiefland fills with manatees, which is a trip worth taking on its own. We wrote that one up separately.

Which spring for which day

If you want to float and do nothing, go to Ichetucknee. If you want one place that does everything for a group, Ginnie. If you want a day you will be telling people about for years, Devil’s Den. If you want an easy swim close to town with kids, Poe or Gilchrist Blue. If you dive, Ginnie’s cave system, Blue Grotto, or Devil’s Den. And if you want quiet and cheap, Rum Island. What to bring, and a few rules

Water shoes, because the limestone is sharp in places. A dry bag for your phone and keys. Cash, since a few of the smaller springs still prefer it at the gate. Reef-safe sunscreen, put on well before you get in. And a cooler if you are settling in for the day, with no glass anywhere. A change of dry clothes for the ride back is the small thing people forget and always wish they had.

The rest is simple. Get there early in summer, because the popular springs close their gates once the lot fills and there is nothing worse than driving an hour to be turned around. Pack out everything you bring in. Give the wildlife room and do not chase it. These springs are old and fragile, and the rules that feel fussy are the reason the water is still clear. Leave it better than you found it and it will still be here the next time you come.

When to go

The water is seventy-two degrees every day of the year, so there is no wrong season, only busier and quieter ones. Summer is the peak, when everyone in town has the same idea, which is exactly why you arrive early. Spring and fall are calmer and the water feels identical. Midweek is quieter than the busy stretches if your schedule allows it. And then, downtown

Here is the half of the trip most springs days are missing. When the swimming is done, you are not stranded an hour from anything. You are a few blocks from a downtown you can walk end to end: dinner without a drive, a drink after, live music most nights, the Hippodrome for a film or a show, and coffee in the morning before you go do it again. Rinse off, change, and walk out the door into downtown.

Alachua County is a gateway on the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail , and for good reason. Paynes Prairie alone has more than two hundred and seventy species on its checklist, and within minutes to an hour of downtown you can bird a wild prairie, a wetland thick with wading birds, shaded hardwood forest, and the Gulf coast. In winter, thousands of sandhill cranes drop into the prairie and fill the cold air with their rattling calls. It is one of the best birding regions in the state, and most of it is a short drive from a walkable downtown.

Paynes Prairie: the headline

Start at the prairie. The naturalist William Bartram rode across it in 1774 and called it the great Alachua Savanna, and it is still that: a vast basin of marsh, wet prairie, hammock, and flatwoods that supports more than two hundred and seventy bird species, with dozens nesting there. It is one of Florida’s premier birding sites, and each trail reads a different chapter of it.

La Chua, from the north rim, puts you eye-level with wading birds, gators, and the open prairie out past Alachua Sink , with winter sparrows, hawks, and waterfowl in the cold months. Bolen Bluff runs through hardwood forest that fills with warblers from fall through spring. Chacala is the woodland trail, good for pileated woodpeckers, barred owls, and painted buntings. The sandhill cranes

If you come for one thing, come for this. From roughly November into March, thousands of migratory sandhill cranes winter on Paynes Prairie, joining the Florida sandhill cranes that live here year round. You hear them before you see them, a goose-like honking and rattling rolling across the basin, and then the long-necked, red-capped birds come into view by the hundreds out on the wet prairie. It is one of the great wildlife sounds in Florida, and the deep of winter is when it peaks. The birding trail notes that, rarely, a whooping crane may turn up among them, the kind of sighting that makes a birder’s year.

Winter is the prairie’s best birding season all around. Alongside the cranes you get thousands of waterfowl, wood ducks, teal, and shovelers, plus bald eagles, northern harriers, and bitterns. What you are likely to see

The list runs long, but a few birds define the experience here. On the winter prairie, the sandhill cranes are the headline, alongside thousands of waterfowl and the raptors that hunt them: bald eagles, northern harriers coursing low, red-tailed hawks. In the wetlands and along the water year round you get the wading birds, great blue herons, anhingas drying their wings, wood storks, limpkins, and the purple and common gallinules picking across the lily pads, with roseate spoonbills adding the splash of pink. In the hardwood hammocks, listen for pileated woodpeckers and barred owls, and in the warm months the indigo and painted buntings that make a birder’s morning. Overhead in summer, the swallow-tailed kites cut their long forked silhouettes against the sky. And for the patient, the rarities: a snail kite over the marsh, the odd vagrant that turns an ordinary checklist into something special.

Sweetwater Wetlands: the easy one

For the most reliable, most accessible birding in the area, go to Sweetwater Wetlands Park on the south edge of town. It is a built wetland of marshy basins with a flat loop of crushed path and boardwalk, open daily from early morning, and it is dense with birds: roseate spoonbills, purple and common gallinules, limpkins, herons, bald eagles, wood storks, and, for the lucky, the rare snail kite. Wild horses wander over from the prairie, and gators are everywhere, keeping to themselves. It is level, gentle, and the spot to send a beginner or a family, since you barely have to work for the sightings.

Woodland and the in-town spots

Not all of it is open water. San Felasco Hammock , northwest of town, is the woodland counterpoint, with warblers, woodpeckers, and owls under a high hardwood canopy. Closer in, the bat houses by Lake Alice on the university campus draw wading birds along with the famous half-million bats at dusk. Palm Point on Newnans Lake is a small, well-known spot for ospreys and lake birds, especially in migration. And you can bird without leaving downtown at all: Depot Park , a few blocks from us, has a pond and a boardwalk worth a slow morning loop with binoculars.

The coast at Cedar Key

When you want shorebirds and a change of scene, the Gulf is about an hour west at Cedar Key . The marshes, mudflats, and refuges around the old fishing town pull in shorebirds, wading birds, and migrants you will not find inland, and the coastal light at the end of the day is worth the drive on its own. It makes a good full-day birding trip from a Gainesville base, paired with seafood and a sunset over the water before you head back.

Photographing the birds

This is a photographer’s region. The La Chua boardwalk gets you close to wading birds and gators without disturbing them, the observation tower gives you raptors and the wide prairie, and the early and late light over open water is some of the best you will find. Bring a long lens and patience, go at first light or the hour before sunset, and let the birds come to you rather than chasing them. Keep a respectful distance from everything, especially the gators and the bison, and you will come home with a card full of the kind of shots that make people ask where on earth you were.

When to go

Birding here has a strong calendar. Winter, roughly November into February, is the peak: the sandhill cranes, the waterfowl, the raptors, and the clearest, coolest mornings to be out. Keep your distance from the gators near any water, give the bison and horses a wide berth on the prairie, and check water levels before you go, since high water after heavy rain can flood and close the prairie trails. Move slowly and quietly and you will see far more than you would hurrying.

A birding morning

The shape of a good one: up early, coffee at the bar, and a short drive out in the dark so you are on the boardwalk as the sky goes gray. First light is when it happens, the cranes lifting off, the herons stirring, the prairie waking up. You bird for a few hours while it is cool and quiet, then head back to town as the day warms and the other people arrive. Forest, prairie, and sinkhole trails, fifteen minutes from a walkable downtown

People expect Florida to be flat, paved, and short on trails. Gainesville quietly proves them wrong. Within minutes to half an hour of downtown you can walk into a mature hardwood forest with real hills and ravines, out across a wild prairie roamed by bison, down a staircase into a hundred-foot sinkhole, or along miles of shaded and open trail. It is some of the best hiking in the state, and almost none of it looks like the postcard.

This is the guide to hiking near Gainesville: where the trails are, what they are actually like underfoot, and which one fits the day you have. Hike by day, come back to a walkable downtown by night. Here is where to point your boots.

San Felasco Hammock: the forest hike

If you want a real walk in the woods, San Felasco is the one. About twenty minutes northwest of town, it protects around seven thousand acres of mature hardwood hammock, one of the finest old forests left in Florida, and the southern two-thirds is set aside for hiking only, so it stays quiet. The surprise is the terrain: this is not flat Florida. The karst limestone underneath has left real hills, ravines, sinkholes, and streams that vanish into the ground, and the trails roll up and down through it under a high canopy.

Start at the hiking trailhead off Millhopper Road. The Moonshine Creek loop is a manageable couple of miles past a sink and a losing stream, and the Spring Grove trail runs closer to six miles for a longer day with the most hills. Leashed dogs are welcome on the south side, there is a small honor-box fee, and in the cooler months the hardwoods actually turn, which is a rare thing to see this far south. Go for the shade, the quiet, and the feeling of having left Florida entirely.

Paynes Prairie: the wild open hike

The opposite kind of hike, and just as good. Paynes Prairie, south of downtown, is a vast open basin, the closest thing Florida has to the Serengeti, and walking out into it is unlike anything else around here. Each trail offers a different version of it.

La Chua is the headline. From the north rim near downtown, a boardwalk and dike trail run out across the wetland to an observation platform, past alligators sunning close enough to count, with wild horses, bison, and clouds of birds out on the prairie. It is roughly two and a half miles round-trip, flat, fully exposed, and the best wildlife walk in the area. Bolen Bluff is a shadier counterpoint, a couple of miles through oak hammock to a bluff with a spur out into the open prairie. And Cone’s Dike is the long, unshaded immersion, running miles straight into the middle of the basin for those who want the whole sky to themselves.

Two things to know. The three trails out into the prairie do not allow pets, because of the gators and bison, and you must give the bison a wide berth, at least seventy-five feet, since they are wild and unpredictable. And after heavy rain these trails can flood and close, so check before you drive. For the long view without the walk, climb the fifty-foot observation tower at the visitor center on the south rim.

Devil’s Millhopper: the short, strange one

Not every hike is long. On the northwest edge of town, Devil’s Millhopper is a giant sinkhole with a boardwalk staircase that drops you a hundred feet down into a cool, green miniature rainforest, with little waterfalls trickling down the walls. It is a short visit, a few hundred steps down and back, plus a rim trail around the top, but it is one of the most unusual half hours of walking in the state. There is a small fee, and the days it is open shift with the season, so check before you go.

Sweetwater Wetlands: the easy loop

For a flat, easy, wildlife-packed walk, Sweetwater Wetlands on the south edge of town is hard to beat. A loop of crushed path and boardwalk runs a few miles around a built wetland thick with alligators, wading birds, and the occasional wild horse from the prairie next door. It is level and gentle enough for any pace or any age, and it is one of the premier birding spots in the area. Keep your distance from the gators, which are plentiful and entirely uninterested in you, and bring a camera.

Morningside and the in-town walks

On the east side, almost in town, Morningside Nature Center offers easy boardwalk trails through pine flatwoods, free, plus a living-history farm that makes it a gentle morning with kids. And you do not have to leave downtown to walk at all: Depot Park , a few blocks from us, has a pond, a boardwalk, and paved paths, and the in-town greenways and nature parks give you a stroll without a drive. These are the walks for a slow morning, a recovery day, or a flat outing with someone who is not up for hills.

O’Leno State Park

About half an hour north near High Springs, O’Leno is worth the drive for one strange feature: the Santa Fe River disappears. The river runs into the ground here at a river sink and reemerges three miles away at River Rise Preserve , and the shaded trails wind through hardwood hammock, sandhills, and river swamp along the way. It is a quieter, less-traveled hike than the closer parks, and a good one when you want trees, water, and a bit of Florida geology doing something genuinely weird underfoot.

The Hawthorne trail on foot

Most people ride the Gainesville to Hawthorne trail, but it walks just as well. The paved rail-trail runs seventeen miles from the edge of town out toward Hawthorne, flat and shaded in stretches, and the best part for walkers is where it crosses Paynes Prairie , with overlooks out over the basin. You do not have to do the whole thing. Pick a scenic section, walk out and back, and you get prairie views on an easy, even surface. It also links to the in-town rail-trails for a longer flat walk.

Which trail for which day

For a real forest hike with hills, San Felasco. For wildlife and open sky, the prairie trails at Paynes Prairie, with La Chua the easiest payoff. For a short, unusual outing, Devil’s Millhopper. For a flat, easy loop full of birds and gators, Sweetwater. For a gentle morning or a walk with kids, Morningside or Depot Park. For Florida geology and quiet, O’Leno. Trails by difficulty

For easy and flat, take the Sweetwater loop, the Morningside boardwalks, Depot Park, the La Chua boardwalk out to the platform, or any section of the Hawthorne trail, all level and doable for most ages and abilities. For moderate, try Bolen Bluff at Paynes Prairie, the Moonshine Creek loop at San Felasco, or the shaded trails at O’Leno, a few miles with some terrain and roots. For longer or more committing, the Spring Grove trail at San Felasco brings real hills, and the long prairie dikes like Cone’s Dike and Chacala run miles into open, unshaded country. Carry water and tell someone your plan on the long ones, and start early so the heat and the storms do not catch you out there.

When to hike, and what to bring

The cool months, roughly fall through spring, are the prime hiking season here: mild, dry, and far fewer bugs. Summer is hot and humid with afternoon storms, so hike early and be done by midday, or save the heat for the springs and the water. Early morning and late afternoon are best for wildlife and light, though note that gators are most active at dawn and dusk, so keep your distance near any water.

Bring more water than you think, plus bug spray, sunscreen, and shoes you do not mind getting muddy, since the open trails can hold standing water after rain. Carry a few dollars for the parks that charge, some on the honor system. Watch for gators and snakes, give the bison and horses a wide berth, and after heavy rain check whether the prairie trails are open before you drive out. Then leave it cleaner than you found it.

A day on the trails

The easy shape: coffee at the bar , then a short drive out while it is still cool. You hit the trail early, when the wildlife is moving and the heat has not arrived, and you have the woods or the prairie mostly to yourself for the first hour. By the time the parking lot fills, you are heading back. Then the afternoon is downtown: a real meal, a hot drink, a walk on flat ground for once, and a quiet room to put your feet up. Gainesville is a college town with a wilderness wrapped around it. Within minutes to an hour of downtown there is a prairie with wild horses and bison, a sinkhole you climb down into like a lost world, a wetland thick with alligators and birds, a mature hardwood forest laced with trails, and more clear springs than you can count. You can be deep in wild Florida by mid-morning and back to a coffee downtown by afternoon.

Where everything is

It helps to picture it from downtown. Paynes Prairie and Sweetwater Wetlands are just south, fifteen minutes out. Devil’s Millhopper and San Felasco sit together to the northwest, twenty minutes or so. Morningside is east, almost in town. Kanapaha is southwest. The springs run west and north, half an hour to an hour out, and the manatees gather west and south in the cold months. Nothing on this page is more than about an hour away, and most of it is far closer, which is the whole advantage of a central base: you are never committing to a long haul just to get into the wild.

Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park

Start here. Just south of downtown sits a vast open prairie that people only half-jokingly call the Florida Serengeti. Wild bison and Florida cracker horses still roam it, alongside alligators, bald eagles, sandhill cranes, and more birds than you could name in a day. Climb the observation tower for the long view, or walk the La Chua trail out across the basin, where the gators sun themselves close enough to make you reconsider how far you have wandered. It was a lake with steamboats on it until a sinkhole drained the whole thing in 1891, which tells you how alive the ground is here.

At night it becomes one of the darkest skies in the region, a certified spot for stargazing once the sun is down. Walk or bike in and entry is free. There is no easier place near Gainesville to feel like you left the city far behind, fifteen minutes after you actually did.

Devil’s Millhopper

On the northwest edge of town is a hole in the ground worth driving to. Sweetwater Wetlands Park

For the easiest wildlife day on the list, this is it. Morningside Nature Center

Closer in, on the east side of town, Morningside is a few hundred acres of pine flatwoods threaded with easy boardwalk trails, and it is free. The lay of the land

Downtown is built around University Avenue and the historic streets that run off it, a tight grid you can cross in a short walk. The Hippodrome sits near the center. The closest brewery to us, and the easiest to fold into a downtown stay, is First Magnitude Brewing Company on SE Veitch Street, right by Depot Park . Launched in 2014, it became the Southeast’s first carbon-neutral brewery and has built a reputation on approachable, well-made beers and a real conservation ethos, with its flagships named for Florida springs and landscape: the 72 pale ale, the Ursa IPA, the Wakulla hefeweizen, and more. The taproom opens onto a big outdoor beer garden with picnic tables, lawn games, and rotating food trucks, and the calendar runs thick with trivia, yoga, run clubs, and live music. Beer named for the springs

It is no accident that the local beer keeps pointing back to the water. One of the most atmospheric is Cypress & Grove Brewing Company , set in the historic Gainesville Ice Factory building, which dates to 1903, back when ice came into town by railroad and was stored here. That gives it a quiet thread to our own depot history, two old downtown buildings from the rail era, both put to good new use. The brewery leans German, brewing to a purity standard with just four ingredients and water drawn from a historic artesian well, and it has the awards to show for it. Expect a clean lineup of blonde, pale, IPA, porter, and stout, plus seltzers and kombucha for the non-beer drinkers, in a relaxed brick tasting room with indoor and outdoor seating, live music, food trucks, and a neighborhood market.

Swamp Head, the original

Gainesville’s longest-standing and largest craft brewery is Swamp Head Brewery , founded in 2008 by a UF alum and now a statewide name. And a small, walkable downtown holding the food, the coffee, and the music in the middle of all of it.

The good news for a visitor is that you do not have to pick a side of town. Stay downtown, park once, and most of the city is either on foot or a short drive away. Free things to do in Gainesville

This is a college town, which means a lot of the best things to do cost nothing. Start with the museums. Gaiensville has Florida exhibits you can lose an afternoon in. Down at Depot Park , the Cade Museum for Creativity and Invention is hands-on and built for kids and the curious, a good rainy-afternoon call with family. And the Hippodrome downtown, a block from us, runs an independent cinema alongside its theater for the films the multiplex will not show.

Nature and the outdoors

This is where Gainesville quietly outdoes cities ten times its size. Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park sits just south of town, a vast open prairie where wild bison and Florida cracker horses still roam, alongside alligators, eagles, and more birds than you can name. Depot Park, four blocks south

We are named for the old Gainesville train depot, and Depot Park, the restored green space built around it, is four blocks south of our door. It is one of the best things the city has done in years. A wide pond with a boardwalk, miles of walking and biking trail, a playground, and a splash pad that is genuinely world-class for kids twelve and under. The park hosts free outdoor concerts and movie nights through the warmer months , and the Cade Museum sits right on it. First Magnitude Brewing is a short walk away for a beer after.

The university, and the Swamp

The University of Florida is most of why this town hums, and the campus is open to wander, all two thousand acres of oaks, lakes, and monuments. The cultural plaza holds the two big museums. The bat houses are here. And Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, the Swamp, is the largest stadium in the state. On a day with nothing on, you can walk in and run the steps. On a game day, the whole town turns orange and blue and fills up fast, so if you are coming for football, book your room early and leave the car parked. Downtown, where you already are

If you stay with us, the easiest things to do are the ones out the front door. Gainesville keeps a full festival calendar , and timing a visit to one is a good move. The Downtown Festival and Art Show fills the streets with artists in the fall. The Hoggetowne Medieval Faire will move to the Gainesville Raceway corner of town into knights and turkey legs in the cooler months. How close to campus

The University of Florida sits about a mile west of downtown, with University Avenue connecting the two. From us that is a few minutes by car, a quick bus ride, or a walk if the weather is good and you like one. The campus is big, more than two thousand acres and better than fifty thousand students, so where on it you are headed matters more than the distance: the stadium, the O’Connell Center , the performing arts center, the Reitz Union , the museums. All of them are a short hop from downtown.

The advantage of basing downtown is simple . You are close to campus in one direction and close to a real downtown in the other, instead of marooned on a commercial strip where the only thing within walking distance is the next hotel.

Getting around once you are here

A word every UF regular knows: parking on campus is the hard part, not the distance. Visitor parking is limited and the garages fill, so the easy move is to leave your car in the lot across from us and take the bus in, or drive the few minutes and use a visitor garage when you have to. The regional bus system runs frequent routes between downtown and campus, and rideshare is quick for the short hop.

For everything else, downtown is built for walking. Once you are back from campus, you can leave the car parked and reach dinner, coffee, a show, and the park on foot. The only real driving you do is the campus run and any trips out to the springs or the prairie .

Why downtown, not the strip

There are chain hotels along the campus strip and out by the mall and the highway, and they do the job. We are not a banquet hall and we do not run a wedding assembly line. We do intimate, and we do it personally.

What we are

We are a small, historic place in the heart of downtown: an old house, a courtyard, a cafe , and rooms upstairs, all walkable to the rest of the city. That makes us a good fit for the kind of wedding that is more about the people than the production. If your idea of a perfect day is everyone you care about in one characterful spot, a short walk from dinner and drinks, rather than a hotel ballroom off the interstate, we are speaking the same language.

The kind of day we host

Elopements. Micro-weddings. A ceremony in the courtyard and a small reception after. Rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, vow renewals, and the quiet celebrations that matter more than their size.
